Frank was ranked #1 as a junior in his home country of Ghana Africa from the 14-18's. His highest junior ITF (world) ranking was #70, during this time he played in the Wimbledon and US Open junior main draw events reaching the second round of Wimbledon. He also played the main draw of the Orange Bowl in singles and doubles reaching the semi-finals of doubles in 1989.

The ITF gave Frank a one-year scholarship to the John Newcomb Tennis Academy in Texas, while at Newcomb's he played many tournaments usually reaching the semi-finals or the finals.

After being at Newcomb's for one year he received a College Scholarship to California Baptist University, which was an NAIA school at the time, where he played #1 singles and doubles.

He was voted "Best Player" in the NAIA; he won a total of four titles and was named a two time All American after reaching a ranking of #2 in the country. After playing there for two years he turned pro at the age of 20 where played on the ATP tour for five years reaching a career high singles ranking of #275 and doubles #150 in the world. Frank played the US Open and Wimbledon Qualifying tournaments and won a number of Satellite tournaments. His biggest win on tour came when he beat Younes El Aynaoui and was a practice partner for Jimmy Connors, Pat Cash and Hichan Arazi.

Frank also played Davis Cup for his home country for fourteen years where he played #1 singles for thirteen of those years. His dedication and devotion to his country lead Ghana to name their Center Court at the National Sports Stadium in his honor, the Frank Ofori Center Court. Frank is the youngest person named to the Ghana Sportsperson Hall of Fame in 2004.
